A revised edition of the classic oil and gas production and selling game that accurately simulates the market forces of the oil and gas markets at every level of production, processing, and distribution. This classic euro-style game was designed by James St. Laurent in 1974, and has been published before, and then re-published in an unauthorized version as McMulti. This revised version of the game, which features an updated ruleset and improved economic engine, was produced in conjunction with St. Laurent, and is authorized, but it will also come with the hundreds of cool plastic pieces that made the McMulti game so popular here.
Since its mechanics are similar to Settlers of Catan, and because its subject matter is so relevant to our current world where the slightest bit a saber-rattling in the Straits of Hormuz can create a ripple effect that translates into higher gasoline prices in Missoula, Montana, Crude: The Oil Game will satisfy fans of economically-based euro-style board games thanks to its peerless attention to every detail of this vital energy-producing industry.
Every player in the game is the CEO of a different energy corporation involved in drilling for oil, and then pumping, refining, and distributing the resulting products. Random economic events such as recessions or rapid growth can influence prices as can news events, which add a highly relevant layer of unpredictability to this game’s very entertaining (and informative) mix. With its hundreds of plastic pieces to represent the game’s key elements, oil barrels, gasoline barrels, drilling rigs, pumps, refineries, and fuel stations, Crude: The Oil Game is as relevant and as fun as ever.
